BRANCHETO grape originates from Piedmont, North Italy and is produced only there. It is a red Italian wine grape from which light-bodied, highly aromatic red sparkling wines, with distinctive notes of strawberries, are produced. The most famous appellation of slightly sweet sparkling Brancheto (little similar to Lambrusco) is DOCG region of Brachetto d’Acqui (Italy).

Wine, made from BRANCHETO grape, is quite hard to find today everywhere outside Italy, but it is  slowly gaining slowly its popularity as many of sparkling wines worldwide. Mostly sparkling brancheto is famous for its freshness, beautiful aroma of strawberries, roses and cherries. This grape is very sensitive to viruses, so production is not an easy process.
