RABOSO is a red grape variety, grown and cultivated in Northern Italy, Veneto region. It is local grape, mainly use in sparkling wine blends while some winemakers vinify it on its own.
Wine from RABOSO grape has high levels of tannin, medium level of alcohol and high acidity. It is said that even the name – Raboso – came from local Venetian dialect where it means “angry” – if wine from Raboso if drunk young, it has very aggressive tannins. Wine made from this grape (or even a mix where Raboso content in distinctive) has fruity flavor and aroma, mainly wild strawberries, as well as wild violets and cherries.
RABOSO grape is the main grape in the DOCG wines Piave Malanotte and Bagnoli Friularo blends.
