TAURIGA NACIONAL is probably most famous Portugal’s red grape variety, which deserves its place next to such top class world grapes as Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon or Nebbiolo. In the beginning of the winemaking in Portugal it was grown mainly in Northern Portugal (Dão and Douro regions) and used to produce Port wine. Today it is widely spread across the country and is used not only Port wine making, but also for finest dry varietal red wines.

TAURIGA NACIONAL grape is very thick-skinned and rich in colour, as well as tannins. Wine from tauriga nacional grape has amazing aging possibilities and excellent structure. Intense flavours, which are floral and fruity at the same time, ranges from black currants, raspberries, to more complex herbal such as violets, earl grey tea or even bergamote.
